Lucky Lowe tames Owego

A few people have passed along this video from the weekend clinic with Lucky Lowe here in Owego NY. Having local clinics has to be the best opportunities to gain some key pointers to improve your abilities on the water. I was able to meet a few of the participants in this video at the [...]

Crystal Springs and Buoy Bash 18

I took a small road trip this weekend, along with my wife, to go and see the site that Darrell and Crystal DeBay built, near Friendship NY. It was actually a sanctioned event weekend, marking the 18th time they have hosted the Buoy Bash at their lake.  The event, the atmosphere and the location itself [...]

The Voice of Waterskiing

Finding the sources for information in the waterskiing world is sometimes challenging.  While some of the larger venues have been making it into more modern media options, the local and regional events are a still struggling a little.  When we find a source for the information however, we welcome it with open arms. If you [...]

Huge thanks to Jim for sending over the link to the Big Dawg webcast from last week.  While the video production is a little “raw”, it gives us a glimpse at the sweet 16 for the Big Dawg series final.  Hopefully we will try to find these webcasts BEFORE they are over, so we can [...]

Goode Nationals (Mens 3 picture)

It was really difficult being up here in upstate NY waiting for trickling news to reach us regarding nationals. The results are up now, but we were completely spoiled by being able to witness the regionals tournament in our own backyard. While we can’t be at all of the tournaments…yet…we do get some pictures and [...]

2009 Nationals come to a close

Nearly 800 skiers competed this year.  I can’t imagine the level of organization required to run something like that.  Our local representation made a pretty good showing, Steve Cole came in 22nd in Men 3.  Crystal DeBey had some trouble, which is too bad because she is capable of winning her division when she is [...]

Local Showing at Nationals

The Eastern region is not really known for being a “powerhouse” at the Nationals every year, simply by the fact that the average ski season for the region is about 6 weeks long.  Which is why its FANTASTIC that we have a showing from the Rochester area.  Matt Cole (B3), Nikki Dobbertin (G2) and Jessie Dobbertin [...]

KC Wilson edges out Tyler Yager at Nationals

KC Wilson takes 1st at the nationals with 4.5 buoys at 38 off. The score was enough to edge out Tyler Yager into second place, who was holding the lead until then with a 3 at 38 pass. We have the post ski interview with Tyler. Thanks for keeping us updated Marcus.
